School size is the average number of students in membership at your school and the average number of students in schools with similar grade ranges in your district and the state. The size of a school is important because it can influence a child's school experience. School size can determine the types of classes and activities (like sports and music) that a school is able to offer.
The number of students in membership in your school is reported at the end of every school month. It includes every grade within the school except for Pre-Kindergarten classes. Because some students move during the year, school enrollment numbers usually change from one month to the next. Students who are unlawfully absent for 10 or more consecutive days during the school year are not included in enrollment figures.
