The number of digital learning devices that students have access to in a school can provide information about the distribution and amount of instructional resources in a school. When there are a smaller number of students per instructional digital learning device, each student has a greater opportunity to make use of digital learning devices in his/her schoolwork. On this measure, smaller numbers are better than larger ones. Instructional digital learning devices include those found in the media center/library, general/academic classrooms, general/academic labs, vocational education classrooms, and vocational education labs.
